Harris Tweed is woven from pure virgin wool, which insulates well against cold and holds its structure in light rain. It isn't waterproof, so heavy downpours will soak through eventually, but for cold, dry, or lightly wet days it's the point of the fabric.

Spot clean Harris Tweed with a soft brush to lift dirt and dust, rather than washing it. Avoid soaking or machine washing, as this can damage the wool fibres and affect the shape. For a deeper clean, dry cleaning is the safer option.
